- 10 medium-sized organic apples
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar (or sugar alternative)
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 Tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup flour (or gluten-free alternative)
- 1/4 cup almond meal
- 1/2 cup gluten-free old-fashioned oats
- 1/3 cup of non-dairy butter
Recipe:
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and lightly grease a baking dish. Add medium-sized apples to a large bowl and sprinkle with a dash of lemon juice. Toss to coat with 1/3 cup granulated sugar, 1 Tbsp cornstarch, ½ tsp of cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Transfer to a baking dish and set aside.
In a dry bowl, stir 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar, ¼ cup flour, ¼ cup almond meal, ½ cup gluten free old fashioned oats, ½ tsp cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Add 1/3 cup non-dairy melted butter and mix, until it looks like wet sand. Sprinkle this topping over the apples and place in the oven, until apples are soft with a golden brown topping (between 45 minutes to an hour). Let rest 10-15 minutes before serving to your guests, and enjoy!
